Dr. Cameron Bassett is an Assistant Professor for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. He served a 2 year mission for his church teaching the Good News of Jesus Christ where he learned to speak Spanish. Dr. Bassett completed a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, minoring in Spanish and Psychology at Brigham Young University - Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho. He then concurrently enrolled in the Doctor of Physical therapy program and Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He received his DPT in 2016 and his PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences in 2021.
Dr. Bassett has experience teaching cadaveric anatomy, functional anatomy, history and system screening, therapeutic exercise, general practice patterns, and therapeutic modalities. He taught 5 years in the DPT program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Lubbock Texas. Dr. Bassett was on the Wellness Committee at University Medical Center in Lubbock Texas and on various committees at DeSales University. He on the Advisory Board of Research in Rehabilitation at LVHN, and is a board member of a nonprofit organization called The Storyteller and the World.
Since 2016 he has worked as a physical therapist in: acute care, post-acute care, Inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient physical therapy, aquatic therapy, and wound care. Dr. Bassett has a passion for teaching anatomy and believes if you understand your anatomy you can treat any patient. His research interests include neurodynamics, ultrasonography, Motion capture, and patients with Parkinson's disease. Above all, he cherishes his wife and 5 kids.
