Dr. Hagan works and teaches in the areas of higher education, ethics, management, and technology-enhanced teaching/learning. With the support of a faculty advisory committee, he directs the Center for Teaching Excellence. He also serves as program director for the Master of Education degree in Higher Education.
Dr. Hagan earned his Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Leadership and Management from Drexel University in 2013. He holds an MBA from Wilmington College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Delaware.
Before taking on his current roles at DeSales, Dr. Hagan served as the university's Dean of Online Education and Director, Distance Education and Instructional Technology. He was recognized by the Student Government Association as Staff Member of the Year in 2020. Before coming to DeSales in 2014, Dr. Hagan spent fourteen years in leadership roles creating and building the online learning organization at a major research university.
Dr. Hagan is serving a 6 year term as an Upper Saucon Township Auditor after being elected in the 2021 General Election. Dr. Hagan is a licensed amateur radio operator under the call sign N3EJH and is active with the Lehigh Valley Amateur Radio Club. Dr. Hagan resides with his wife in Center Valley.
Dr. Hagan and his wife have two sons and three grandchildren. He is a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Bethlehem.
